The 222 Jarvis retrofit and modernization project is an initiative of the Government of Ontario whose main objective is to show that older buildings can be retrofitted to significantly reduce their carbon footprint. This retrofit is one of the largest in North America. Size: 628,000 SF Expected Completion: 2012 The complete retrofit and modernization of the nine storey, 628,000 SF office building to an AAA office standard will include new base building interiors, upgrade of electrical and mechanical systems, as well as, overall shell and envelope remediation. The new building is targetting LEED Gold with optional LEED Platinum points. A new three storey glass atrium will bring in more natural light and extend the main floor lobby and part of the second floor east toward Jarvis Street.
